Pre-operative instructions may vary depending on the procedure you are having and the facility where your procedure is to take place.  The following are general pre-operative instructions and should not replace those instructions given to you by your physician or the surgical facility.  You may be required to have lab work and/or an EKG done prior to surgery.  You should have nothing to eat or drink up to 8 hours prior to your procedure.  You will need someone to drive you home following any outpatient procedures.
